Anticipating
Release
Political prisoners live in anticipation of their release, and
a return to their families. Political prisoners have been deliberately
kept in prisons hundreds of miles away from their families,
preventing regular visits. When families visit, they are allowed
only fifteen minutes every two weeks, and a jailer is always
present. Members of the same family have also been imprisoned
at the same time, creating even more of a burden. This failure
to provide a political prisoner adequate time to see their family
is a form of psychological torture.
